Getting Started¶
How do I create my school account?¶
Go to app.edudesk.africa/register.php and fill in your school name, email, and choose a username and password. Your 14-day free trial starts immediately โ no credit card required.
What are the subscription plans?¶

Can I migrate from another system?¶
Yes. Use the CSV import feature in Students โ Import and Staff โ Import. Download the template, fill it in, and upload. Contact support@edudesk.africa for help with large migrations.
Students & Staff¶
How do I bulk import students?¶
Go to Students โ Import โ Download Template, fill in the CSV, then click Upload. The system shows you a preview and any errors before importing.
How do I reset a teacher's password?¶
Go to Staff โ [Teacher Name] โ Actions โ Reset Password. Enter the new password and save. The teacher can change it on first login.
Can a parent have multiple children on the system?¶
Yes. Create parent accounts for each child, then link the same parent email to multiple students. The parent sees all children when they log in.
Fees & Payments¶
Which payment gateways are supported?¶
Paystack (Africa), Flutterwave (Africa + Global), and Stripe (Global). Configure them in Settings โ Payments.
How do parents pay online?¶
Parents log in โ Fees โ Pay Now โ select amount โ choose payment method (card, mobile money, bank transfer) โ complete. A receipt is emailed automatically.
Can I give a student a fee discount?¶
Yes. Go to Students โ [Student] โ Fees โ Add Adjustment โ enter the discount amount and reason.
Attendance¶
Can parents see attendance records?¶
Yes. Parents see their child's attendance percentage and daily record in the parent portal.
How do I excuse an absence retroactively?¶
Go to Attendance โ [Student] โ click the absent date โ select Excuse โ enter reason โ Save.
Technical¶
Does EduDesk work offline?¶
Yes. EduDesk is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Once installed and after first login, key pages are cached. You can view previously loaded data offline. New data syncs when connectivity is restored.
How do I install EduDesk as an app?¶
Android: Open Chrome โ tap โฎ โ Add to Home Screen iPhone/iPad: Open Safari โ tap โ Share โ Add to Home Screen Desktop (Chrome/Edge): Click the install icon in the browser address bar
Is my data backed up?¶
Yes. EduDesk runs automated daily database backups with 14-day retention. Your data is stored on enterprise-grade servers.
How do I enable push notifications?¶
Click the ๐ bell icon in the top bar after logging in โ Allow when prompted. You'll receive instant notifications for new notices.
